Sevilla FC have today found out their opponents in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage after today's draw in Istanbul, the city that will host this season's final in June.

We have been drawn into Group G, and will face Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and FC Copenhagen, with the fixtures to be confirmed before midday on Saturday.

This is not the first time we have faced our pot 1 opponents, English champions Manchester City, in this competition. Seven seasons ago, we were also drawn into the same group. Both matches ended in defeat, a 2-1 loss at the Etihad and a 3-1 loss at home, as we finished third in the group before our fifth Europa League success.

As for current Sevilla players, Jesús Navas played for the Mancunians in both matches that season, while Fernando Reges lined up alongside him in the match in Sevilla. Karim Rekik also spent time in Manchester at the start of his career.

Curiously, Manchester City's new assistant manager, Enzo Maresca, made 134 appearances for us in a four-year spell, famously scoring twice against Middlesbrough in the UEFA Cup final in Eindhoven.

As for our pot 3 opponents, Borussia Dortmund, this will be the third time we have been drawn to face each other. Just 18 months ago, the Germans narrowly progressed in the UCL Round of 16 clash. We were beaten 3-2 at home in the first leg before drawing 2-2 in Dortmund.

Just over a decade ago, we were both drawn into the same group in the Europa League, back in 2010. We came out on top in Germany thanks to a goal from Cigarini, and confirmed qualification for the knockout rounds with a 2-2 draw at home.

Thomas Delaney is the only member of the squad who has played for BVB, and played against us in the UCL knockout match before switching Dortmund for Sevilla.

We have never faced our pot 4 opponents, FC Copenhagen, and it's been 65 years since our last competitive match in Denmark. That tie came in the old European Cup against Aarhus GF. A 4-0 win at home in the first leg was enough to progress, despite a 2-0 defeat in the away leg.

Strangely enough, Thomas Delaney is again the only player in the squad to have played for FC Copenhagen, spending eight years at the club before making the move to Werder Bremen.
