During the press conference in which Monchi's exit was announced, both he and the president showed their total confidence in the future of the club without the sporting director who explained that "it's not the case that tomorrow I'll leave the stadium and never return, but I'll detach myself from my role bit by bit. A large part of the planning is already done because the work is done by my people. I think the club is sufficiently prepared to make up for my absence without doubt, there are very good professionals in my group and it's certainly possble that I'll lose more without them than they will without me".
The president, José Castro, continued with a similar message: "The sporting department is set up and prepared well enough. That doesn't remove the fact that there is a change and restructuring, but our structures are strong enough for there not to be any kind of problem".
"It's posible that I'll lose more without them than they will without me"
Monchi insisted that "there is a really good breading ground here for us to keeping enjoying Sevilla players. We've had a lot of success stories and there are others who have been here and have contributed a lot. No one is indispensable. The problem was at the Salto del Caballo, at Mahadahonda, or at the Cerro del Espino. Now, this club has grown a lot and it has been based on a lot of people and a very well build project and is capable of continuing without Monchi."
