Kasper Hjulmand, Denmark's national coach, confirmed late on Monday the first batch of 21 players called-up for the Scandinavian country for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, including, as expected, Sevilla's Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg. The remaining five will be confirmed in the coming days. Both players from Sevilla join Alex Telles, who was also confirmed on Monday for Brazil. With a squad captained by a former Sevilla midfielder in Simon Kjaer, the Danes will be looking to get out of Group D.
Their opener comes in just two weeks' time, against Tunisia on Tuesday 22 at 14:00 CEST in Al Rayyan. Four days later they face the toughest of the three matches, against France in Doha at 17:00, before closing the group stage against Australia in Al Wakrah on Wednesday 30th at 16:00. Should they go through, they will meet one of the two qualifiers from Group C, which includes Poland, Argentina, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.
