Sevilla FC are having an excellent campaign, which sees them currently fourth in LaLiga with the second best points tally in their history for this stage of the season,and which also took them to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The good results, not only from this campaign but from previous seasons too, mean that Sevilla currently have the eighth best UEFA coefficient and also occupy eighth place in the world club ranking created by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics for the year 2016.
With 112.542 points, counted over the last five seasons, Sevilla FC's UEFA coefficient is only behind those of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Juventus, PSG and Borussia Dortmund. The top ten is completed by Benfica and Chelsea. Arsenal, Manchester City, Porto, Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen are the teams occupying eleventh to fifteenth position.
With regard to the IFFHS ranking for 2016, a year in which they won the UEFA Europa League and achieved good numbers in both the league and Champions League, Sevilla, with 248 points, are only behind Nacional de Medellín, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, PSG, Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Behind Sevilla, the top ten is completed by Atlético de Madrid and Juventus.
