"There is no place for them to try to block the growth of Spanish football," said our President

Our President, José María del Nido Carrasco, spoke to Mediaset ahead of the Antonio Puerta trophy. He began by assessing the start to pre-season: "We are back in our stadium in front of our fans. It is a very emotive day for us. Pre-season is a time to recharge the batteries, improve fitness, and to start to implement the style of play of a new coach. We're starting to prepare for what is ahead."

José María del Nido Carrasco also spoke about the feelings after García Pimienta's first few days in the job. "We're feeling very good. We are very excited and are working hard for next season." He is also content with the business so far in the transfer market: "Our plan when pre-season started was clear. At this point, I didn't necessarily expect us to be so far through with five departures and four signings. There is still a lot of business to be done but between these operations and the contraction extensions at the end of last season for Jesús Navas, Nyland and Isaac, we are progressing forward. I am quite happy."

To finish, he also wanted to emphasise the sanctions the Tribunal Administrativo del Deporte (TAD) had carried out against Javier Tebas after the report from Florentino Pérez: "I would like to show my unconditional support to Javier Tebas for the excellent work he is doing as the head of LaLiga. He is being subject to completely unfair attacks by the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez. I don't understand how a club as big as Real Madrid, after winning the Champions League, the league and signing Mbappé, is so obsessed with blocking every project that involves the growth of the league. They are showing that they want a submissive league. If they want a submissive league, they will always have us in the way. I would like Real Madrid to lead the growth of LaLiga, to invite them to reflect and work for the growth of LaLiga. There is no place for them to try to block the growth of Spanish football."
