Joan Jordán, Papu Gómez and Nemanja Gudelj were interviewed by club media after the draw in El Gran Derbi. On what happened on Sunday night away to Betis, Jordán was the first to make a fairly extensive and analytical assessment: "I think we came with the healthy intention of being on top, gradually taking the game to them."

"The sending-off came and the game started to change, there were different phases in the game and the red came just as we were settling down and in the second we tried to push forward, we couldn't get things going. I'm not happy, we should have made them pay for their errors but this is something we have to keep working on."

"We're in a very bad position in the league table and since Sampaoli arrived we've been taking steps towards the footballing philosophy he wants and now we're trying to focus on Wednesday. In football when everything goes your way you can count luck on your side, in situations like that maybe that last shot from Nema goes in, but I'm left with the fact that we have to keep doing things the right way, we have to work, grow and improve however we can."

From his perspective, Papu Gómez spoke of the good performance from Sevilla FC that was seen on the pitch despite the bitter feeling at the end: "We wanted to win at all costs, when they had two men sent off we looked for the chance, it wasn't easy but we had it with that shot from Nema."

"We played a good game in general, we never got desperate, then in the second half we were able to read the game well. We leave with a bitter taste in our mouths, but I think we took a step forward in many aspects. We're desperate to give the fans who support us so much some joy and we're going to try to get those three points before the break so that we can all go home happy.

To finish off, the scorer Nemanja Gudelj was also left wanting more because, after the tremendous shot that brought the equaliser, he also came very close to scoring another which would have finished the comeback:

"At the minute, with the adrenaline of the match, I feel like I should have scored especially with the chance in the last minute, I should have hit it better, but in the end it is football and what matters most is that we have seen a Sevilla team that dominated for much of the match and that has been very strong."

"The team is gaining confidence, playing here is not easy and we have seen a team that is well organised, compact, with good ball control... we held them to a draw during a difficult period for the club and we are all pulling together to get things back on track. On Wednesday we can't wait any longer to get that win at home."
