CASTRO PRAISES THE WORK OF SUPPORTERS CLUBS AT THE AWARDS CEREMONY

The president highlighted the work of supporters' clubs and at the same time he expressed an ambitious message at the 15th supporters club meeting

On Saturday the 15th supporters club meeting took place with the presentation of the 2020 Shields of Gold with a gala dinner in the presence of president José Castro and vicepresident Del Nido Carrasco. After the speech by Carlos Jiménez, the head representative of the supporters' clubs, as well as from all the award winners, the chief executive of the club took to the floor. He first recognised that the return of the meeting was an "enormous joy to be able to be here. That we can be together and talk about Sevilla and that we can give prizes to people who live by and for Sevilla FC and its supporter clubs. It's amazing because we are able to fill our stadium with fans, joy, spirit and nerves because those who love Sevilla can't stop suffering and enjoying their colours."

Also, he highlighted the work of the board of directors of the Sevilla supporters club 'San Fernando' throughout this time. "The work and results don't fool anybody, they always come from hard work and effort. The supporters club has worked to make this room full. I am sure that we are one of the first to have a supporters meeting again. In Sevilla, there is no smoke without fire. We work and hope and above all everything is an effort to achieve things. Silverware comes through the effort and work of many and this is what we all do for each other. This means that today we are proud that we are high up. We are living in the best moment in the history of Sevilla FC. I am sure with the care given to things that with a simple video, those who will follow in our footsteps us will also work by and for Sevilla.

In addition to giving a lovely message José María Fidalgo, one of these supporter club members who has always been there, highlighted the warmth that the club had felt in recent times. "We always feel the support from the supporters' clubs but perhaps in recent months even more after helping to achieve the stability of Sevilla FC. Something fundamental and very important to be able to achieve sporting milestones. From our side, we promise hard work, sacrifice, strength, hope and ambition because the aim was to win in Cologne against four teams with triple our budget. Ambition is that while other teams haven't signed players, we have signed more players than anybody else. Ambition is that we have not sold a player for an exorbitant price. It was crazy not to sell him, we understood that it wasn't his value and that it was an important year for him to be with us to try to achieve the greatest sporting feat, which we always want at Sevilla."

 The following were awarded the Shield of Gold for 2020 on Saturday night from the supporters federations:  Luciano Fernández (PS Cartaya), José Martínez Suárez (PS Macarena), Juan José Rodríguez Angulo (PS de Osuna) and Sebastián Cárdenas Álvarez (PS HastaLaMuerte.net).
