Erik Lamela expressed words of gratitude during his farewell event. The Argentine began with emotional words after watching various videos: "The video was moving. I only have words of gratitude for those who came to share this moment with me, to everyone at Sevilla FC for organizing this event. Like all farewells, it is a bit sad. Today, I find myself speaking in front of you at a moment a player never expects, but I understand as a great professional that these kinds of moments arrive and cycles come to an end. For me, it is important to speak today to express what I feel for this club. From the first day, I felt at home; they made everything easy for me so that I could focus solely on playing football. That's why I want to thank everyone who works behind the scenes, those who strive day in and day out to make everything as good as possible."

He reflected on his time in Nervión, with special mention of the UEFA Europa League won in Budapest: "I spent three wonderful years in this club where I take away thousands of memories, and I believe that last year, when we became champions of the Europa League, is something that I will always treasure in my heart. I will never forget it, and I am happy to be able to give back at least a little of what this club has given me. I will always be grateful. I cannot say anything else. It's time to say goodbye, I will always carry you in my heart, and hopefully, the future will allow me to return with my children to show them what the club is. It was an honor for me to wear the Sevilla shirt; I was privileged, I always gave my best, and for me, that is the most important thing. Thank you."

"I experience some incredible moments and I will always be grateful"

Responding to questions from the media, he highlighted, among other things, that "when I choose a club, I fully commit to that club and always try to give my best in it. I understand that the team is in a rebuilding phase, and I am sure they will do it very well because they have something in their favor, which is the people. I experienced some incredible moments and the club will always have a special place in my heart." He also emphasised the atmosphere in the changing room during his time with the club: "We formed a strong group, not only the Argentines. Throughout this time, I tried to give the club the best of me alongside my teammates."
