The Sevilla defender doesn't see the match against Spartak on Wednesday as a "final" but does think a win would be crucial "to see where we are in February"

Accompanying Sevilla FC boss Eduardo Berizzo, centre-back Clement Lenglet attended the official pre-match press conference for Wednesday's fixture with Spartak Moscow this Tuesday afternoon. It's a tie still affected by the after-effects of the away fixture, where Sevilla lost heavily in the Russian capital. On that matter, the French defender saw the defeat something not worth dwelling on: "The match in Moscow was very difficult for us. Afterwards we worked hard to do more because we can't concede so many goals. Now we know they like attacking on the counter and we have to do much more to counteract that and do them damage. We shouldn't live in the past but we should use it to be better in the future. And tomorrow is the future. We need to use videos and see everything we did badly in the away fixture in order to be better".

"There is no other way to win than being humble, no group is better than another"

Equally, he denied the label of favourites because "in the Champions League they don't exist. We're playing at home, but when we played in Russia we lost by a big margin and now we have to win every game. The only way to do that is to be humble and that's because no team is better or stronger than another".

Humble and looking for revenge, he said: "When there's a defeat like the one in Russia, every player wants revenge. We hope we'll be able to play the best match possible tomorrow in order to get that revenge because conceding five goals was tough". A result which for Lenglet, didn't fit the image Sevilla FC has forged over the years: "Sevilla has a fantastic image and one game doesn't change that after years and years. But okay, we have to do more because it's going to be difficult. We came off a bad week but we can turn it all around. Tomorrow it's important we give another account of ourselves".

"It's not a final because there are two more matches afterwards"

Important, but not a final for the player, who didn't forget that there are two more games after Wednesday's clash: "Not a final because there are two more games afterwards and if we win tomorrow and we lose the other two it would be difficult to qualify. But yes it's very important to win to see where we'll be in February".
