Ludwig Augustinsson was today unveiled before the press at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. At the press conference, the Swedish player was very happy to have joined Sevilla: "It's a very big challengebut I like challengesI've liked them my whole life. Since I was a kid, I've always had big dreams. Coming to this great club is very big for me. I want to get going as quick as possible, to get to know my teammates, to know the club, and to get fit as quick as possible to be ready. I know at a club like Sevilla there is always very high competition for places. I will just try to give everything every day to try to develop. All I can say is I will give 100% every day and do my best for the shirt and for the club".

The left back also spoke about the quality of LaLiga and Sevilla's title opportunities: "I think there's very high competition in LaLigaso this is difficult. I cannot say too much, I've only been here a few days. Winning LaLiga is very difficult. Sevilla has the possibility of getting some good resultsbut it's very difficult".

"I think it's a great opportunity for me to come here. I played for four years in the Bundesliga and I think this is a big challenge. It's a different kind of football and I think it will serve me well, and also develop me as a player, and also off the pitch. I'm really looking forward to learn, and I want to get into everything, settle in as quick as possible to perform and help my team. It's a long season, with many games, and then important games in the cup, in the league and in the Champions League, so I just want to get going and then I will push every day to perform at my best level", commented Augustinnson.

"I'm really looking forward to learn and to help my team"

The competition for places is something that's very important for the new signing: "As I said, I like challenges. At these clubs there is always high competition. If I didn't want competition, I could have stayed at Werder Bremen. You want competition, in every position there's two or three good players, and I will give everything and show that I want to play. I know Acuña is a very good player and he did really well hereI have to work hard. With the mister, I've spoken a little bit. I'll try to learn how Sevilla want to play and adapt, that's my target now. Get fitterget betterknow my teammates and perform at my best level as quick as possible".

Ludwig also spoke about his first impression of the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, from when he attended a match six years ago: "The most impressive thing was the stadium and the fans. When I was here six years ago, at a LaLiga game, I was very, very impressed. At that time I didn't think that six years later, maybe I would come here, but that's football and I'm really happy to be here. To see the game (on Sunday against Rayo) was very good for me, very nice. It's difficult for me to imagine when it's fullI think it will be amazing and it will be a special moment for me to step out on that pitch".

"It will be a special moment for me to step out on that pitch"

He also commented on the welcome from his teammates: "They welcomed me very, very well. The club gave me a very friendly welcome, everybody was very positive to me and very friendly. I feel that there's a very good team spirit. Many of them told me if you need anything, just call them. I feel like it's a very good atmospherelike a family. In the first three sessions, I've felt good. I need to adapt to the new way of training and maybe the new way of playing also. I will try to bring my game and build up my fitness even more. I had a veryvery warm welcome from everybodythe fansthe playersthe President".

As the first Swedish player in the club's history, he considers it to be a great responsibility: "It was a surprise for me because I didn't knowit makes me proud to be the first one. It's also a responsibility. I want to show that Sweden has good footballers. More Swedish people will follow Sevilla even more, it's a positive thing. I'm looking forward to being the first one and I want to be remembered as a Swede who did well, so it's a big responsibility, but it's something I like".

"I want to show that Sweden has good footballers"

On his role and the type of player he is, he emphasised his attacking qualities: "I have good passing, I try to run up and down the pitch a lot, and bring a lot of crosses into the box. I try to be involved a lot in the offensive actions, that's something I did earlier in my career. In my defensive side, I want to show that I'm aggressive, and bring my quality".

On a similar note, he also highlighted his professionalism: "I would describe myself as very professional. I try to make all the details right, to always be ready, and be sharp in every training session". He then again highlighted the warm welcome to the club: "It's more easy for me to speak with the guys who speak English. It's difficult to say only one because many of them have said if you need anythingjust call. They've made it easy for me to come here".

"I would describe myself as very professional, I try to always be ready"

The left back is very aware of the importance of trophies to the club: "Sevilla FC have shown me, especially in Europe, that they can win titles. To go around the stadium and see these six trophies is a big motivation. It's a dream, they have shown me that with their history. I don't want to speak too muchI want to get to work and to show it on the pitch. We have dreams and that's a dream for me".

Another aspect to focus on was that of acclimatising to Sevilla, for both himself and his family: "I think I'm quite an easy guyand I'll try to adapt quickly, I'm quite social. With the weather, the first two days were difficult, but today I feel even better. I think the more days I'm here, I will just get used to the weather. We've been moving during my career andof coursea big thing here is the language. I will try to get a teacher quickly and try to talk with the guys in the team to learn Spanish as quick as possible, because I know it's very important for adaptation. I think my family, my wife will do the same. I think that's a key. Everybody is taking care of me hereit's like a family. I think it'll be no problem".

To finish, he spoke about what he knows of El Gran Derbi, a very strong rivalry: "I've played in derbies before in my career for other clubs, but I know this derby is one of the biggest in Europe. It's such a rivalry and I think it's a good thing to have, the atmosphere is crazy. It's about winning this game for the club and the fans. They're two very important matches, they give you really good confidence to win this game. I know what it means to everybody so I hope we can get good results in these games".
