2-1: SEVILLA FC FALL TO DEFEAT IN THE COPA DEL REY ROUND OF 16

Koundé hit the crossbar late on for the visitors

The Copa del Rey Round of 16 match between Real Betis and Sevilla FC was abandoned after 39 minutes, after Joan Jordán was struck by an object thrown from the home stands. The RFEF announced the abandonment and will provide relevant information when the appropriate decisions are made.

The match was eventually completed on Sunday afternoon, with the hosts progressing to the next round with a Canales goal midway through the second half. Carvalho played him in on the right-hand side, and he made no mistake as he got the better of Alfonso. Chances were few and far between until then, with Sevilla FC creating some opportunities but without threatening Rui Silva. 

As the match reached its conclusion, Koundé came close to an equaliser when he headed Papu Gómez's shot onto the crossbar. Barely seconds later, Ocampos nearly levelled when the ball fell to him in the area, but he could not convert.
