Gabriel Mercado spoke in the press room with Eduardo Berizzo today in the pre-match press-conference for the clash with Istanbul Basaksehir. From the first moment, the full-back wanted to be clear there was no room for complacency despite a 2-1 win in the first-leg: "Despite a good result, we won´t be complacent. We know it will be a match just as, if not more difficult than the one in Istanbul. For us, "relaxing" isn´t a word with any meaning. It´s a final as far as we´re concerned and we know qualification depends on it - which for us is hugely important".
He expects a clash just as difficult as the first-leg. That being the case, Sevilla won´t relying on the result: "As we practised in training and as the boss told us, the match is going to be played with the same intensity as in the first-leg, without dwelling on the away result. With that concentration and intensity, we can see off the match in our own way. It would be a mistake to think we´ve already won, because these days, against such a dangerous opponent, we would risk qualification. We are going out to win".
The Argentinian sees all the team´s preparation has put them on the best track possible to win the playoff: "We started preparing for the match days ago. Preseason helped us get in shape and understand the manager. Those who play tomorrow know what they´re playing for and know the club has made a tremendous effort to qualify for the Champions League. We will leave everything out there to achieve it".
