After receiving a red card in the dying minutes of the loss last night to Osasuna because of his actions from the bench after being substituted, Fernando Reges uploaded a message to his social media accounts today in which he apologises for what happened:
Yesterday I was rightly sent off with a straight red card, my first for Sevilla FC. I got it wrong, I succumbed to the nerves and the tension in the moment. But I cannot in anyway justify my behaviour. I want to offer my sincerest apologies to the referee, Juan Luis Pulido Santana, and the rest of the officiating team for my unfair words, that don't show the profound respect that I have for referees given the complicated job they do that requires a lot of bravery to undertake. I also want to apologise to my teammates, the coaching staff, the club and all of the fans. I am truly sorry.
Everyone can get things wrong and without doubt, I was in the wrong last night. This is not the image I want to create on the football pitch. I accept full responsibility for my mistake and all I can say is that I'm sorry, and that my commitment to Sevilla FC is stronger now than it was yesterday. I will try to show this.
