Pre-season is a vital moment for all the members of the team, but logically the recent arrivals get more attention. One of them is Guido Pizarro, who faced the media in Japan: "We are working well, in an intense manner like the coach wants it. In the first game there were a lot of positive things and hopefully we'll keep working hard so that we can get to the Champions League playoff in the best form possible."
He admits that the jet lag, accumulated with that of Mexico, slowed him down at the beginning: "In the first days I did feel it a bit more, because where I arrived from there is a 14 hour time gap. But we've changed our sleep and we're fine now." He also had a good feeling about the first friendly: "It was the first game, I'm starting to get to know the lads and we're playing well, but we have things to improve and that's what we'll try to do."
Asked why has most surprised him, he cited the team spirit: "What has stood out is the togetherness of the group, more than the pecking order or the quality that there is. They're all good human beings and that's fundamental for achieving things. That's what I value most. Individual quality is there in plain sight, but we have to bring it together to achieve our targets".
