Due to UEFA coefficients, Sevilla FC were assured of a place in at least Pot 2 for the UCL Group Stage Draw which will take place on 1st October. However, last night's win over Inter in the UEFA Europa League Final now means that they will feature in Pot 1, which contains the winners of the top six leagues, ranked by coefficient, and the two UEFA Super Cup participants.
The win for Julen Lopetegui's side means that they are now unable to face the other sides in Pot 1. Both Champions League finalists are amongst the eight teams, which also features six league champions. Pot 1 has been completely confirmed, and will consist of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Juventus, Bayern Múnich, PSG, Zenit St Petersburg, Porto and Sevilla FC.
This will be the second time that Sevilla FC have been in Pot 1 for the UCL Group Stage draw. In the five other Group Stage draws, they were in Pot 1 once, in 2009/10. Pot 2 is the most frequent seeding for the Nervionenses, where they were in 2007/08, 2016/17 and 2017/18. They were also in Pot 3 in 2015/16.
