The match

Matchday 7: Sevilla FC vs Atlético de Madrid at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Always a classic.

The table

We are currently in 15th place with a win, two draws and three defeats. Atleti have five more points than us thanks to three wins, a draw and two defeats, and are seventh in the table.

Team news

Diego Simeone has named a 22-man travelling squad for this fixture, with Mario Hermoso missing out due to suspension. Giménez has travelled despite picking up a knock this week. Julen Lopetegui is yet to name his squad for this clash.

Players to watch

Oblak will be between the sticks, while Alex Witsel will be a key man in defence, with the Belgian midfielder playing further back than usual since he signed for Atlético. Yannick Carrasco and Álvaro Morata play a key role in attack.

Last three fixtures at home to Atleti

Julen Lopetegui is unbeaten in his three home fixtures with Sevilla against Los Colchoneros. The first of those clashes was a 1-1 draw back in November 2019, while the team won 1-0 two seasons ago and 2-1 last season, with a late winner from Ocampos in the latter.

Press conferences

At his pre-match press conference, Julen Lopetegui believes that "the only way to get results is to believe in what you are doing more than ever before", while Diego Simeone spoke about the fact that Sevilla are a team that are "committed to work and have shown that by getting positive results."

Match officials

De Burgos Bengoetxea will take charge of this clash, while González González is on VAR duty.
