After being a goal away from securing Champions League qualification against Villarreal, the team can put it right tonight against Mallorca
Cuerpo Superior

A second bite at the cherry to qualify for next year's Champions League. As was the case on Sunday in Villarreal, should Sevilla pick up all three points today, we will be guaranteed a spot in the top four and as such will qualify for the Champions League for the third year running, the first time such an event would happen in the club's history. Ahead of us is a Mallorca in desperate need for points as they have been drawn right into the relegation battle in their first season back in the top flight.

Julen Lopetegui's team were waiting to see last night's results to see if even just a point would be enough tonight, but all three will be necessary to mathematically finish above Real Betis and Real Sociedad. Julen talked about Lucas Ocampos and didn't rule him out after a virus prevented him from playing in Villarreal. We will have to see the squad list to know about the rest of the injured players - Rekik, Martial and Suso. After two straight draws, Sevilla will want to get back to winning ways to secure top four, keep up the fight for second place and allow us to go into next week's match against Atlético Madrid in third place.

Ocampos was not ruled out by Julen Lopetegui

Mallorca go into the game with the same, or even bigger, need to win after last week's huge blow against Granada. In fact, should Javier Aguirre's side fall to defeat tonight, they could end the weekend virtually relegated were Cádiz capable of winning tomorrow in San Sebastián. The Mexican coach left Fer Niño out of the squad, while Alexandar Sedlar, Amath Ndiayé, Íñigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Dominik Greif miss out through injury. Mallorca are the second-worst away side in the league and are on a nine-match losing streak. Their last points away from home came on 4 December when they beat Atlético Madrid 2-1.

For the first time this season, referee Alejandro Hernández Hernández comes to the Sánchez-Pizjuán. He has only refereed our win away at the San Mamés this season. It is also his first time refereeing Mallorca this season. David Medié Jiménez will assist him on VAR duties.
