The preview of...

Sevilla FC-Villarreal CF in the 30th match week of LaLiga Santander which will be played at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, kicking off at 21:00.

Standings

Sevilla FC are on 35 points, seven above the relegation zone after winning twice and drawing once in our last three games. On 47 points, Valencia are fighting to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and come to the Andalusian capital on the back of a home loss to Real Valladolid (1-2).

The last three meetings between Sevilla FC and Villarreal CF

In the 2019/20 season, the away side won as Munir cancelled out Albiol's opener before Ekambi, fifteen minutes from full time, secured a 2-1 victory. In the following season, we ran out comfortable winners as we kept a clean sheet and scored goals through Lucas Ocampos, a penalty and En-Nesyri. Sevilla also won last season, with Lucas Ocampos scoring the only goal to seal all three points.

Squads

After the clash at the Mestalla where we kept a clean sheet, Marcao and Joan Jordán both miss out through injury, Marcos Acuña is also unavailable as he is still suspended following his red card against Celta Vigo. However, after completing their suspensions, both Alex Telles and Pape Gueye return to the squad. The visitors will not have Gerard Moreno and Coquelin available, who are both out with injury, but the away side do not have anyone missing out through suspension.

Referee

Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, from the Basque Country, will referee Sevilla FC for the third time this season, following a loss at home to Atlético Madrid, a home draw against Celta Vigo and a victory at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán against UD Almería. Our history with this referee is nine victories, two draws and seven losses. With the same referee, Villarreal have one home victory against Atlético Madrid, a loss at home to Real Betis and a home victory against UD Almería. VAR will be overseen by Santiago Jaime Latre.
