'Today I return to this press room to say goodbye to Sevilla FC, three years after I first appeared in this very room... time has went by so quickly, too quickly. It feels like yesterday that I arrived at this great club. I can say that I leave Seville full of pride after a unique experience and accomplishing many sporting goals like qualifying for the Champions League and winning the UEFA Europa League. What I want to say first is THANK YOU. THANK YOU in capital letters. THANK YOU to all Sevilla fans, who from the first moment made me feel part of this family. THANK YOU to the president and the Board, thank you to all my teammates, thank you to the two managers I had and thank you to all the employees that I shared moments with in these three years.'

'Sevilla FC is so amazing thanks to the heart of their employees'

Institutions are great thanks to the people that make them up and Sevilla FC, thanks to the heart of all their employees, is so, so amazing. I don't want to name any names as I'm sure I'll forget many important ones, but allow me to have a special mention for Mr. Joaquín Caparrós, Paco Gallardo and Carlos Marchena. They took a risk that I would be able to defend this badge and I will always be thankful to them for that. And, of course, thank you to José Silva, the goalkeeping coach, with whom I have grown on both a professional and personal level.'

'If there's one thing I regret it's not being able to say goodbye to our fans at the Sánchez-Pizjuán'

I have had the honour of defending Sevilla FC's goal on 94 occasions. I always gave my very best and I had some incredible moments. I will never forget, because it would be impossible, the love I felt from the people the day we beat Madrid after I spent the night in A&E after my daughter had an accident. If there's one thing I'll regret, it's not being able to say goodbye to our fans at the Sánchez-Pizjuán. Our fans are unique and I will always remember them. When I arrived to this city I was told that Seville had something special and three years later I can say that it is undeniably true. Seville is an amazing city where both my family and I have been happy. Seville and Sevilla FC are part of our lives as a part of our hearts will stay here. I just want to say it was an honour to play for this amazing team. Thank you so much to everyone.'

The goalkeeper, after finishing, received a shirt showing the matches he played for the Club. In addition to the President and Sporting Director, he was joined by Vice President, Gabriel Ramos, the vast majority of the coaching team as well as his fellow goalkeepers Bono, Javi Día` and Alfonso, the three Club captains, Argentines Ocampos, Papu Gómez and Marcos Acuña, as well as employees of the Club who shared moments with him.

'Thanks to Bono, I was able to lift the Europa League'

In the time allocated for questions, he commented 'after the video, Mudo's words and seeing my teammates here I'm very emotional, but also proud to have worn this shirt. I love this club and teammates and I wish you all the best.' Speaking about the stop against Joselu, he said 'I'm happy to have made the last save in this shirt and that it helped the team beat the historic points record alongside Papu's goal.' He added that 'after the game I experienced many emotions and it's a shame we can't say goodbye to the Sánchez-Pizjuán with the fans. Playing in the stadium when it was full was an amazing experience and I will be a fan of Sevilla in the future, just like Mudo said.'

'There are a lot of great things I take away from this club. Winning the Europa League, the amazing fans...' To close, he answered a question regarding the competition with Bono: 'I can say from the bottom of my heart that with Bono I have one of the best relations that I've had in my career. We goalkeepers are together a lot and he has had an amazing season and he deserves all of the success this year. Thanks to him, I was able to lift the Europa League. I also have a special relationship with Iván as we have common ground with Basel and I'll miss him when we play against Croatia.'
