Last Tuesday, ahead of International Women's Day, some of the Sevilla FC Women players visited the Manuel Leonardo Supporters' Club in Benacazón to discuss their experiences with respresentatives from the 'Federación de Peñas Sevillistas San Fernando' (the San Fernando Supporters' Federation).
Maria Pérez, who was a part of Spain's World Cup winning squad, and Inma Gabarro, World Champion at under-20 level, revealed details about their journeys to where they are now. They talked about the barriers that they had to overcome within society and the support from their male counterparts, at both club and national team level.
There on behalf of the 'Federación de Peñas' were vice-secretary Marta González, vice-treasurer Milagros Tejido, board member Rocío Díaz and Rocío Mesonero. They explained their current roles in the organisation, which is chaired by Carlos Jiménez, and spoke about the evolution of women in football since they began to follow the club.
