Following the launch of Scout Advisor, we have become pioneers in the football recruitment process, using the latest technology available. On Tuesday, Scout Advisor was presented to the world at the IBM TechXchange Summit in Barcelona. It was one of the main focuses of the event and saw our Chief Data Officer, Elías Zamora, revealing the lowdown of the project with IBM vice president Dinesh Nirmal, who wore a replica match shirt. Scout Advisor is built on 'watsonx', IBM's Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data platform, and adds to the current AiFootball and AiScouting databases.
Scout Advisor has attracted media attention from all over the world. For example, Forbes published an article stating that "Sevilla FC are using AI to revolutionise the process of signing players." Other big media companies, such as Fox News in the United States, have shared news of these developments with their readers, writing an article titled "How LaLiga's Sevilla FC uses IBM's watsonx to elevate its player evaluation process." Mexican company Expansión talks about the "advances" in signing players that Scout Advisor offers while Infobae, one of the biggest media outlets in Latin America, has labelled it as "revolutionary." Sohu, one of China's most popular media outlets, wrote that "Sevilla FC launch innovative tool based on IBM's Watsonx" and Naver in South Korea mention that generative AI being used in football is an unexplored area.
In particular, Scout Advisor will aid the day to day work of the sporting director in terms of improving the efficiency of extracting information from databases with over 200,000 entries. News of its launch has been covered across Europe, in countries such as Italy, France, the UK, Germany, Ireland and Denmark. As for Asia, Scout Advisor has reached South Korea and China, as well as The Times of India, one of the most prestigious Indian media companies. Articles have also been published in the USA, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Chile.
