José Castro addressed the media during Nyland and Lukebakio's presentation as Sevilla players. First of all, he was questioned on the topic of Luis Rubiales: "Yes, I think that he should resign because Sevilla FC of course rejects and condemns the behaviour of the president following the Women's World Cup Final. That reason is enough, but I was on the board and I had to resign because of some of his actions. I do not think he has been a good president for the RFEF. Regardless, as I have said, this behaviour is not acceptable in any institution, and a president cannot conduct himself in such a manner at a World Cup.

On Lukébakio, he denied any unusual involvement in the negotiations with Hertha shareholders, 777 Partners. "Nothing question other than a player we were interested in, for whom we made an offer and is now here". In addition, Víctor Orta added that "as per German legislation, the club is 51%-owned by its members, who were consulted and a decision was made. An important aspect in this was the player's willingness to move." He also spoke about Aston Villa's bid for Marcos Acuña: "It is not anything to do with Monchi. Sevilla listens to offers from any club, be it Aston Villa or any other. The reality is that the club will decide if the offer is adequate or not. Obviously if they do not pay the price we think is appropriate then he will not leave. There is no agenda so no complaints to be had. If a club wants our player but doesn't give us the money we think he is worth then we can forget about a deal and move on.

Commenting on the start of the season, Castro said "we have spoken with the manager as is normal since we are very close with the coaching staff. Nobody likes losing their first two games. The manager has said what he thinks needs to be said, but this is not the first time things have gone badly. Scoring three away goals and losing isn't ideal, but we have to forget about that because there is a game on Saturday against Girona and we have to get some points on the board. The team's performances last season give us some hope, but at the same time we have to push hard and continue growing.

Finally, the president referred to the need for an increased capacity. "It is true that many fans want to become season-ticket holders. We have plans in principle for a new stadium that have been shared with the mayor and Urbanismo Sevilla. We are taking steps towards turning those plans into a reality as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I understand that work cannot begin until 2026, but we are working on a bigger stadium for those supporters who currently do not have their own seats."
