The tremendous parity in Group 2 of the Primera Federación means that any winning streak can change the mood of a locker room in just a few days. This is the case for Sevilla Atlético, which, with its strong start to the year, has moved past the difficult part of the standings to settle into a more comfortable position. Jesús Galván’s team has won its last three matches, all with the same 1-0 scoreline. They defeated Algeciras at home, 1-0, then won 0-1 at El Palmar against Atlético Sanluqueño, and secured another minimal victory this past Saturday at the Jesús Navas Stadium against CF Intercity. Nine points that place the red-and-whites in tenth position with 31 points after 23 matches, creating a four-point gap over the relegation zone, currently marked by Alcorcón with 27. Interestingly, the promotion playoff zone, a reference that was not even considered a few days ago, is now the same distance away.

A run that is no coincidence, because if we broaden the perspective a little, we can see that Sevilla Atlético is one of the in-form teams in the group so far in 2025. Specifically, they have earned 12 points out of 15 possible, with the only loss in Ceuta,  also by the minimum margin, and the 1-0 defeat in the first match of the year, at home, against AD Mérida. This haul makes Sevilla Atlético the second-best team in the last five matches, only surpassed by Real Madrid Castilla’s 13 points.

The reserve team is on the rise, and if you look at the statistics, there's one obvious reason. In those five matches, they are the team that has conceded the fewest goals of the 20 teams in the group, only the goal scored by Ceuta at the Alfonso Murube-. Looking further back, in the last nine matches, they have only conceded three goals, aside from Ceuta, one from Betis B and one from Hércules-,  a goals conceded ratio much lower than any of their competitors. The immediate future takes the team to face two historic clubs: Real Murcia, on -Sunday at 17:30 CET at the Enrique Roca, and Hércules the following weekend at home-. It will be the moment to reaffirm these good feelings as the last quarter of the calendar approaches, when everything will start to be decided.
