The Sevilla Chairman confirmed: "One of the first things he said was that he didn't want to talk about money. Caparrós doesn't want to charge anything for these four matches". He also assured the press he is the most appropriate person for the job: "for his Sevillismo, his courage and experience"

Chairman José Castro spoke to the press at Joaquín Caparrós' official presentation as Sevilla FC manager for the last four matches of the season. He assured the Sánchez-Pizjuán press room he is the best man to take over: "Who better than Caparrós, for his Sevillismo, for his courage and fight and his experience. We shouldn't forget he has managed more Sevilla matches than anyone. We're only talking about the last four matches, I repeat".

He's managed more Sevilla FC matches than anyone else

He talked about the process of getting Caparrós home: "The reality is the results weren't coming. We trusted we'd get three points against Levante to rebuild the team's confidence but that's not how it went. We were already talking with Caparrós to incorporate him in the restructuring we are planning and when we made the proposal he didn't hesitate. He's like a kid wanting to help Sevilla".

On another matter, he assured: "The first thing he told me is that he didn't want to talk money. Caparrós doesn't want to charge anything for these four matches. He's accompanied by all these professionals, all very well known and all Sevillistas. He has insisted on not charging for these four matches".

Finally, asked about Montella: "Things are as they are not as they could have been. He found a squad which he hadn't built and guided the team to highs but then saw a drop. He's been a professional, he's been honest, he's worked to the end but he understands the decision because of the results. I can only say good things about him. When we told him yesterday, he was upset but he understood".
