2022 will be a World Cup year, the epitome for all football fans and of course the players themselves, who every four years try to fulfil the dream of playing for their country in a World Cup - the most important tournament in the game. After the last international break finished many of the last places were decided although there remains a lot to clear up in every continent, with another playoff round to complete the full roster of countries who will be in Qatar in November and December.

At Sevilla FC, compared to previous tournaments, it is the World Cup in which the most players from its squad have booked their tickets to the tournament with a total of 12. During the past two weeks four players have sealed their qualification for Qatar. Bono, Munir and En-Nesyri qualified with Morocco after beating the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the final African playoff, while Tecatito did the same with Mexico, ensuring qualification in the last two games against Honduras and El Salvador.

En-Nesyri, Bono, Munir and Tecatito qualified in the last international break

In previous international breaks, the other bulk of Sevilla players also managed to achieve qualification for the World Cup finals. The Argentinians, who this time were represented by Montiel and Ocampos, already had mathematically qualified, and throughout qualification has called up Acuña and Papu Gómez, completing the four Sevilla players for the South American country. In Europe three other countries had already qualified with Sevilla players. Delaney, with Denmark, Gudelj and Dmitrovic with Serbia and Koundé with France and they were also involved for their national teams this international break playing friendly games.

It is worth noting that out of all the internationals who went off to play for their countries, only Augustinsson with Sweden was unable to qualify for the Qatar World Cup, falling in the final and decisive game against Poland, who will be in the Middle East for the finals this year. So overall eleven Sevilla FC first team players, all regulars with their national teams, will play in the World Cup finals which will interestingly be the first to be played in winter and not in summer.
