JOSÉ CASTRO DEDICATES SOME EMOTIVE WORDS TO VACLÍK AND MUDO VÁZQUEZ IN THEIR FAREWELL

The Club President and Monchi gifted the players a commemorative shirt of the number of games they played for the Club

Sevilla FC President José Castro began the press conference to say goodbye to Franco Vázquez and Tomáš Vaclík. He began by saying 'we are joined here today by a number of the squad, our captains... it's a sign of the dressing room we have which is full of good professionals and good people.'

He began with the Czech goalkeeper:

'Today we say goodbye to Tomáš Vaclík, a true gentleman and a great goalkeeper who gave his all for our Club in his three years. 94 games and one UEFA Europa League. I want to thank Tomáš for his determination and his sacrifices. He was a consummate professional in the good times and the bad.

'Your desire to play against Real Madrid showed me you were a strong man'

We all know it has not been easy for him this season, since that injury against Eibar. But his attitude has been amazing. And that's where you see the great professionals, those who put the group above all else. Your determination has been admirable. I still remember that incredible performance against Madrid after spending the night in hospital with you daughter. That desire to play, to be with your teammates, showed me you were a strong man. I wish you all the best.

I am sure the future will be kind to you, Tomáš. Best of luck and, you already know it, but Sevilla FC will always be your home.'

Continuing with the press conference, Mudo Vázquez' moment came. The President dedicated him the following words:

'Five years ago a wonderful left-footed player arrived in Seville without much fan-fare. He went by the name of Mudo and we soon discovered why. But Franco Vázquez leaves us today, paradoxically, making a lot of noise. A lot. Franco is a different kind of player, one of those virtuosos who lift fans out of their seats. Franco is unique and his football is part of the history of Sevilla FC.

'Your biggest success is "Mudismo" which has enchanted our fans'

Many players have passed by Sevilla FC. But only a few, the select few, remain in the memory of Sevilla fans... I am sure that in 50 years people will still be speaking of the quality of Mudo. You leave having played 198 games, with a UEFA Europa League playing in all of the matches of the final phase, you played in that historic match in Old Trafford which qualified the team for the Champions League quarter-finals...

But none of that is your biggest success... Your biggest success is "Mudismo" which has enchanted our fans. Finding a place in the heart of our fans is not easy and you did so with ease. Thank you, Franco. And last but not least, no Mudo, no party.'

Both Castro and Monchi gifted Vaclík and Vázquez a commemorative shirt of the number of games they played for the Club, 94 and 198 respectively.
