Atlético Sanluqueño 0-1 Sevilla Atlético
Sevilla Atlético began the month with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Atlético Sanluqueño thanks to a goal from Álvaro García Pascual. The striker, who made his first-team debut against Celta de Vigo in December, headed home from a Di Massimo cross with just over 20 minutes to play to seal the win on the road at the Estadio El Palmar.
Sevilla Atlético 1-0 CF Intercity
Back on home turf at the Estadio Jesús Navas the reserves followed up the performance against Sanluqueño with another 1-0 win. They took advantage of a defensive mistake from Intercity to score inside the opening ten minutes through Alexandro who headed into the back of the net from just a metre out after the away side were unable to clear their lines. Intercity, who in the second half brought on Anthony Modeste – who just two years prior played for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán – pushed for an equaliser and Alberto Flores in the Sevilla Atlético goal produced a number of great stops to maintain the clean sheet and ensure all three points maintain the clean sheet and ensure all three points.
Real Murcia 0-2 Sevilla Atlético
Against a Real Murcia side sitting inside the playoffs, Sevilla Atlético recorded an impressive 2-0 win away from home at the Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia. With two minutes to go in the first half a well-worked team move eventually found its way to Oso lurking on the penalty spot, who fired home from a Darío cross for the opening goal. The three points were then secured with nine minutes to go as a wonderfully weighted pace from Hormigo found Matteo Mejia, who nipped in from off the Real Murcia goalkeeper Gianfranco Gazzaniga and raced clear to score. The game was then stopped due to crowd trouble, but after the game restarted the reserves stood firm to get the win with yet another clean sheet.
Sevilla Atlético 1-0 Hércules CF
In the final game of February, Sevilla Atlético made it a perfect month with four wins from four. With a number of first-team players watching on in the afternoon sunshine, a single goal from Alexandro was enough to take the three points. The goal came nine minutes into the second half as a high press put Hércules’ goalkeeper Carlos Abad under pressure and his hurried clearance only found Alexandro, who made no mistake with the finish and clinically dispatched.
Castrín named as Primera Federación MVP
Central-defender Andrés Castrín was recognised for an excellent individual month with the MVP award for the month of February for Primera Federación. He beat off former Manchester United player Bebé who is currently playing for UD Ibiza as well as AD Ceuta striker Dani Aquino. During the month, the team went 549 minutes without conceding in the four wins with Castrín, who made his first-team debut against UE Olot in the Copa del Rey in December, playing in every game.
Lulo continues recovery
Lulo continued his return from cruciate ligament injury which kept him out for nearly 10 months with his first appearance coming on January 26 in the win against Algeciras and then going on to play in all four games in February.
Fewest goals conceded in top four tiers of Spanish football in 2025
The one goal conceded by Sevilla Atlético up to the end of February in 630 minutes of league football was the fewest by any team in Spain’s top four tiers of football (LALIGA EA Sports, LALIGA Hypermotion, Primera Federación and Segunda Federación) with Alberto Flores keeping an extremely impressive six clean sheets in seven games. It is also worth highlight how the team were in 17th place in the league heading into 2025 but the winning run has lead them into the playoffs in the third tier of Spanish football for the first time since May 2016 – where they were promoted from the old Segunda B with a penalty shootout win against Lleida.
